Eli Manning vs. Tom Brady Part II

Those who followed my twitter handle "@BigTymeReportin", already know that my picks yesterday did not pan out. I wanted the Ravens to win over the Pats and the 49ers to win over the Giants.

Okay, now that I have cleared the air, I am pulling for Eli and the Giants to bring this trophy on home.  There are so many angles about this game that I could mention, but I am going to go in a total different direction.  I am going to ask all of you a question: If Eli Manning wins a second ring, is he better than Peyton Manning?  Sound crazy right...well not exactly.  In every sport when people are comparing two awesome players, they begin speaking on the championship accomplishments between the two.  For instance, is Kobe better than Jordan? Most people would say "NO", Jordan has 6 rings and Kobe has 5.  Is Brady better than Montana?  Most people would say "NO", Montana has 4 Superbowl wins and Brady has 3.  Okay, if that is the criteria for who the better player is, then I have to ask the question again: If Eli wins a second ring on Feb.5th, 2012, is he better than Peyton?

If Eli wins this years Superbowl, then that would give him two in seven years.  Also, he would have beaten arguably the best NFL quarterback in this era (Tom Brady) twice to do it.  Let me give you another parallel, when the Giants went to the Superbowl the last time, they won in overtime (23-20) against the Packers at Lambeau Field in "The Coldest Game of NFL History".  Yesterday, he went into a rainy and windy Candlestick Park and won again in overtime (20-17) against an extremely tough 49ers team.

At this point Deon Sanders may be correct when he says, "believe in Eli".

Denver vs. Pats

I am hoping Tebow wins but my football mind says Pats will take it.

49ers vs. Saints...Who You With

Give me the 49ers on this one.  As a matter of fact, give me the 49ers all the way.

Win Or Go Home

We are a dome team...we are getting three of our starting secondary defenders back this week...our quarterback threw for over 5000 yards this season too....the Silver Crush can get to Breez!!!!

There is no doubt that the game this Saturday will be one to remember for Detroit Lion Fans.  The Lions are coming to the Super Dome against the Saints as underdogs for sure.  This will be both the biggest stage and challenge for Stafford and the fellaz thus far.  We need to make sure that we play disciplined, intelligent, and courageous against the Saints.  I believe that we need to manage the "time of possession" well to keep Breez and the Boys off of the field.  We must also ensure that we do not commit costly penalties and turnovers at any point in the game.

The best advice that I have for my Lions is, "don't play like you been here before, play like you belong there now!"  My prediction just like the 10-6 record this year is that the Lions will win this game and shake up the "football globe".

Oh yeah, Congrats to the Michigan State Spartans for pulling off the win against the GA Bull Dogs!!!!  Go Big 10!!!

Sports Questions?

Who are you picking for the Super Bowl winner this year?

Will the "Tebow Miracle" streak end soon?

With the NBA coming off of their lockout, will you support their league still?  Do you think that they may have lost many of their fans which  will ultimately  have a negative on their revenue?

Is Miami going to take advantage of the short season and win the championship?

The Gift and the Curse

Suh is talented, strong, fast, athletic, but immature player.  For the record, on Thanksgiving the Lions were playing a rivary team in their conference with a chip on their shoulders because they had something to prove, however you cannot lose your head the way that Suh lost his.  The game is play mentally just as much as it is physically.  The Lions next few games are as follows:

Saints  (This is the wrong game for Suh to be suspended for)
Vikings (This should be a win with or without Suh)
Raiders (These guys are hot right now and they have a nice running game with a decent defense. Tough one.)
Chargers (We should win)
Packers (Frozen Tundra....need I say more)

Currently we have won 7 games but we still are on the outside of the playoffs looking in. The only bright spot in our situation is the fact that Jay Cutler went down and the Bears are currently slipping.  It is now time to make sure that we come with our "A" game to ensure that we at least get a "wild card" spot.

The Real Turkey Day Action

First of all, "Happy Thanksgiving Day" to everyone out there that reads this blog.  I hope that you all have a blessed day, enjoy your family, and embrace whatever situation that you are in.  Give your mind a chance to take a break from the rigors that it experiences every day.

Now let’s get down to business.  I am going out on a limb today with some very bold predictions on the following three games:

Lions vs. Packers (Lions will upset the unbeaten Packers and gain the momentum to enter the playoffs and prepare for the rematch against the 49ers)

Cowboys vs. Dolphins (Cowboys will probably win this match up,  however if it goes down to Romo…good luck with that, Cowgirl Fans)

49ers vs. Ravens (I am picking the 49ers in this match up because I think that they are better than the Ravens primarily due to coaching)

My only question to everyone is, will any of the teams playing today end up in the Super Bowl this year?

PS.  I will be tweeting Chris Webber, Jalen Rose, Stephen A. Smith, Jemel Hill, "Neon" Deion Sanders, Dwight Howard, and my boy Coulb, during the Lions and during the 49ers game for foolish jokes and junk talking game banter.  My Twitter handle is "BigTymeReportin" for all of those who will be following on Twitter today!
