The Silver Crush
Dynamite Kidd and Davey Boy Smith were the British Bulls Dogs in the WWF wrestling television show. So what will we call Suh and Fairley after the coin toss in Tampa Bay when the Lions play the Bucs on September 11th. All eyes will be on the team that lost every game a few season ago. If the Bucs are not careful, the Lions will be in their grills like the gold and platinum caps that filled the mouths of southern rappers several years ago. The Lions Justin Durrant and Stephen Tullock at LB's behind the "Silver Crush" D-Line will make a case for one of the sickest defenses in the North if everything goes as expected during the free agent signings and the preseason. I would hate to see my man Josh Freeman having to face these "Thunder Cats" right out the gate, but it may happen. All that I can say is "BOOM"!!! Thanks John Madden...

Not this time fellas...I am drinking the KoolAid. The Lions will wildcard this year. At least that is what I keep telling myself....lol
I am feeling Suh and I believe the sales pitch. I have no idea why I believe him, but Suh is very convincing and it not his huge frame but his huge passion. Sure, passion doesn't equal tackles, but it is the base of locker room and team camaraderie. Only time and a consistently healthy defense will tell.

I used to think that Al Davis was the worst owner in the NFL...even HE has some Lombardi Trophies to look at when he gets down. The lions have what?
1 playoff win in the modern NFL? And that was HOW long ago?
Yeah.
They're not going anywhere fast on the back of Duh. They'll burn him out and God forbid he gets into a yard cleaning accident like Andolsek!

Call it hope, wishful thinking, or plain ole eating the Lions Cornbread yet another year is what I am doing. I was listening to Sean Baligian and bought into the hype. Then it happened...Nick went down! Now I am getting the slight headache you get when you follow the Lions for years and the come up shorter than a midget at an adult urinal. I hope this year they bring something more than they did the last 34 years of my. The being a Lions fan is like being on drugs: you know that it is not good for you and but you find yourself in the same spot every Sunday looking for that first taste of playoff high.
.Lions rookie RB Mikel Leshoure injured, out for season

Allen Park — Lions rookie running back Mikel Leshoure, a second-round pick out of Illinois, will not play this season after tearing his Achilles tendon in practice Monday.
"You could tell on the field," said coach Jim Schwartz, who made the announcement without having to refer to any medical test. "The way he went down, you knew. There was no need for tests to be done. He will have surgery soon, probably tomorrow."
The team was in full pads and the injury took place on a running play during 11-on-11 drills. Leshoure, the ball carrier, was hit high on defensive end Cliff Avril. His foot seemed to get stuck and he fell immediately.
"I know I stood him up," Avril said. "But I didn't know he was hurt. I stood him and kind of walked away. Then I saw he was on the ground."
Leshoure was having a solid camp. He was expected to be the power runner the Lions have been without the last few seasons.
"Injuries happen," Schwartz said. "It's disappointing for him but we will find a way through it. But as a long-range player, we still feel very strongly about Mikel."
Schwartz said general manager Martin Mayhew and the scouting staff were on the phone looking for possible replacements during practice.
"We definitely have some work to do," Schwartz said. "This changes our plans a little bit. But there is a lot of ground to cover between now and the beginning of the regular season. We will work through it the best we can."
Jahvid Best remains the starting tailback. No. 3 back Maurice Morris has been out with a broken hand. The team again has no true power runner.
"He's got to be (devastated)," said Best, who has been rooming with Leshoure during camp. "But he's got a bright future. This is just a minor setback. Just press the pause button for a little bit and as soon as he presses play he will be right back where he started."
Said offensive captain Dominic Raiola, "It's tough, especially seeing what we saw of him out there in practice. It's a tough loss. But we have faced enough adversity in the past, we will get through this. They will make the right moves to put us in a position to win. It sucks for Mikel, but this isn't the end of the world."
The Lions are now without their top three draft picks. Defensive tackle Nick Fairley will miss all of camp with a broken foot. Receiver Titus Young has been out with a hamstring injury. He took part in individual drills Monday, but left the field and came back in shorts with ice taped to his leg.
